About the programme

North Macedonia is located in the southern part of the Balkan Peninsula and borders Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo and Serbia. The estates breed fallow deer, red deer, sika deer, aoudad, wild boar, mouflon, Himalayan tahr, four-horned sheep, Rasa sheep and kri-kri ibex. Brown bear and wolf are found in the free-range (unfenced) areas.

Accommodation

Nidže hunting estate

The estate has four accommodation buildings amid beautiful nature. They stand close to one another and share a pond of clear water from the local river. The main building has a large dining room with a fireplace and an area for relaxing and games, as well as 4 maisonette apartments with a total capacity of 14 guests. The second house has 8 apartments for a total of 24 guests. There are two more houses (with 10 and 6 beds), usually used by local hunters.

The area is linked to Kajmakčalan peak, where a famous battle of the First World War was fought in 1916 – monuments, bunkers and graves from that time can still be seen today.

Stogovo hunting estate

Accommodation is at Hotel Kalin or Motel Topila. Nature in Stogovo is almost entirely preserved, as the mountain is far from large settlements and rarely visited by tourists. Both venues combine traditional Mijak architecture with modern solutions and create a warm and cosy atmosphere.
