Hunting in Bulgaria – along the Danube, Season 2026/2027

About the programme

Bulgaria offers a rare combination of wild river landscapes, centuries-old floodplain forests and rich populations of free-living European game. The individual hunting programme takes place along the Danube River – an area known for its abundant wildlife, picturesque river islands and authentic continental hunting traditions.

The package combines different hunting methods – trophy and selective – for red deer, roe deer, wild boar and predators (jackal, wolf and fox). The game moves freely between the riverside forests, farmland and wooded Danube islands, and the area is known for its stable populations and good chances of success.

Accommodation is in a comfortable hunting residence with modern amenities, warm hospitality and high-quality cuisine. Guests have a wide choice of dishes, soft drinks, local beer, wine and spirits.

Conditions and chance of success

The estate offers excellent conditions for a successful hunt. Precise organisation, experienced professional guides, well-chosen hunting grounds and healthy populations give a very high probability of success.

When hunting with a bow, the result depends entirely on the hunter's personal skill, shooting technique, physical preparation and accurate judgement of distance and conditions, so success cannot be guaranteed.

Trophy fees by species

All prices are in euros, including 20% VAT.

Red deer (Cervus elaphus) – by trophy weight

• Hunting period: stags and calves – 1 September – 31 January; hinds – 1 October – 31 December;

• The additional fee is charged for every further 10 g above the lower limit of the category;
• For trophies over 230 CIC points, 10% is added to the final price.

Selective hunting – red deer population management

• For wounded and unrecovered game, 100% of the price of the animal that was targeted is payable.

Wild boar (Sus scrofa) – individual hunt

• Hunting period: all year round;
• The trophy fee is determined by the average length of the lower tusks:

• For a trophy over 125 CIC points, 10% is added to the trophy fee.

Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus)

• Hunting period: roebucks – 1 May – 31 October; does and fawns – 1 September – 30 October;
• The trophy fee is determined by the net weight of the trophy in grams, deducting 90 g for the upper jaw:

• For a wounded and unrecovered roe deer, 100% of the price of the animal that was targeted is payable;
• For a trophy over 160 CIC points, 10% is added.

Predators

For wounded and unrecovered game, 100% of the price of the animal that was targeted is payable.

A typical hunting day

The hunting day starts at first light – coffee and breakfast at the residence while the Danube surroundings slowly wake up. The morning hunt lasts until about 9–10 a.m., after which guests return for lunch and a short rest. Around 14:30 the afternoon hunt begins, usually until sunset.

The hunting methods are adapted to the hunter's preferences, physical shape and the weather – stalking on foot through forest and riverside terrain, waiting in high seats above feeding sites and clearings, and where appropriate – hunting over bait. Suitable 4x4 vehicles are available for hunters with limited mobility. On arrival, each hunter meets their professional guide and together they choose the best strategy for the chosen game.

Accompanying guests: companions are always welcome. They can enjoy the calm of the residence and the nature, or visit nearby cultural and historical places. On advance request a personal escort or guide can be provided for an additional fee.

On advance request, professional filming and editing of a hunting film during the stay can be arranged – price €5,460.

Booking terms

• To reserve the dates, a 50% deposit is required on the total value of the requested services and the planned harvest/trophies (according to the price list) no later than 90 days before the hunt;
• The deposit is paid after sending a completed booking request and receiving all necessary hunting documents for each participant;
• Final payment, including additional costs during the stay (additionally taken animals, trophy fees, extra services), is settled at the end of the programme.
